Book course

The course is aimed at Project Managers and others involved in Project Management who want to understand how to apply Agile approaches within an overall project management lifecycle framework.

Objectives

By the end of the course you will be above to describe the origins of Agile and apply core Agile values and principles. You will know the difference between the defined process and the empirical processes used in Agile and be able to explain the issues identified in the traditional/ waterfall approach. The different approaches to the empirical model for improvement and change are covered and the implications of Agile practices on individuals, teams and your organisation.   You will be able to explain the business culture and the economic case required for Agile and the way in which we engage customers into an Agile project. You will also know how to respond to change in an Agile project in relation to the common Agile roles, techniques and practices.

Course Overview

Agile approaches, such as eXtreme Programming, Scrum and Lean Software Development are becoming increasingly mainstream. They describe how to successfully deliver in complex situations when requirements and possible solutions are subject to continuous change. However, they do not describe a full project lifecycle with defined Phases, Work Products, Roles and Responsibilities.

This course covers how to operate in such an ‘Agile’ fashion within an overall project framework based on the DSDM Atern approach. Through practical experience of the Agile style of working, case studies and example scenarios from a highly experienced trainer, it provides delegates with an understanding of how the Agile Project Management process can enable planning, management and control for predictable Agile project deliveries. The course includes:

  • Understand the fundamentals of Agile Project Management
  • Understand the key Agile Project Management practices and how to manage Agile Project teams
  • Describe and relate the Agile Project Management process
  • Understand project control in the Agile environment
